I enjoy bathing the dog and watching them feel frisky after.I like to experience the dog's personality as I groom.I enjoy most having my own place so I don't have to rush the dogs that just need more time for whatever reason..they are scared,blind,timid.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like a bit of history on the dog and owner.I like the dog to get a sniff test in on me.I try to get a clear picture of the haircut wanted.I also assess the client's fear level because that transfers to the dog,if they are nervous leaving the dog,doggie knows.My dog is my best friend and I don't leave him with just anybody so I get it.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a Star graduate from the academy formerly in Stuart.I attend yearly shows and expos to stay current.

How did you get started in this business?
I was a manicurist for years but I worked in a dog kennel for police dogs in my 20s...a nail client needed help at their vet and the rest is history.I worked 2 jobs,nails and dogs,then went to the dogs.(the dogs dont laugh either,its ok)

Describe a recent event you are fond of.
MY dog of 15 years died in my arms,a good dog ,a good death.When I went to bury her, I wanted to see her face one more time,her little ears stood up when I unwrapped the blanket and she made me laugh one more time.BITTERSWEET MOMENT.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Cheaper is not better.It means the groomer has to do more dogs to pay her bills.Do you want a rushed groomer or one who has time to soothe your dog in the tub?One who has time to let it get over a bit of anxiety or a fussy moment.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
how much hair do you want,how often do you need to be groomed to achieve that?Does the dog matt?stink?have sores?have medical issues I need to know about.If he is a biter,pls tell me BEFORE HE BITES ME.
