What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Once we get a request for an estimate, we come out and do a walk through. We take pictures and assess any repairs that need to be done prior to painting. Then we sit down with the customer and talk about their vision for the job and offer our professional opinion. We discuss colors and different designs that we think may enhance their home. An itemized proposal is sent to the customer listing all the work to be done and how much it will cost. If everything looks good and they agree on the price, we decide a start date and the rest is history.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I’ve been painting for over 15 years. I used to work side by side with a painter who ran a successful business for 10 years. He taught me all the in’s and out’s of the painting business and encouraged me to go into business for myself. I learned how to do faux designs and felt confident enough to start my business and here I am.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I’ve worked with people from all walks of life. I’m very compassionate when it’s comes to senior citizens who are on fixed incomes and their homes are all they have. That’s why we offer a 15% discount for ages 65 and up on exterior painting. I’ve worked with people who don’t know much about painting and appreciated the fact that I was very knowledgeable and could help them see the value in a good paint job.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Like I said I’m very compassionate when it comes to our senior citizens. I recently had a job where the customer hadn’t had their house painted in over 15 years and it badly needed repairs. Their funds were limited so I worked with them and took on the job. A lot of work went into the house but once it was complete, the smile on the customers face meant everything to me and gave me a new appreciation for what I do. They loved the paint and said it reminded them of when they initially bought the home.
