Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First of all I need to know their goals and need, then we start from there. Once we have the goals well defined we go step by step until we have the final design proposal ready to be executed on site.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a certified architect and interior designer
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Every project is different and all of them have different characteristics that I need to take into consideration. Even though I have a system that really works for me and for my clients, adjustments are welcome to make all parties happy, confortables and sure of what we're going to achieve.
How did you get started in this business?
It all started about 13 years ago. Since I am a child I've been involved in the construction industry because of my family business. Always surrounded by projects, blueprints, materials, visiting job sites, managing customer and employees since a very young age, it truly made me realize this is what I want to do in the future. With the expertise I got from there, I decided to open my own Interior Design & Home Decor firm when I finished my Architectural degree.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I've worked with so many type of customers. Some of them are investors, who need to go with a low budget but very eye-catching design to get the project sold as quick as possible. I've also worked with high-end clients who do not hesitate on spending on their projects, as long as they get what they asked for. There is also the type of client who wants a beautiful home, and at the same time is working so hard to make that possible to achieve their goals and we go step by step. I would not define any client with a specific name or type, or distinction. I would just say every project has its own characteristics, needs, and goals. Every client is different, every customer is a new world. We start from there and we all do our best to achieve the goal.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
The first advice I would give is to work with someone that makes you feel comfortable to work with. There is always what I call a "click". It is the first impression you have about something or someone that you know is right. Trust your instincts and take the first step to go to an interview. The first meeting is always the best one to make a decision. Even if you do not know it, You really know from the very beginning who is the right one. Our heart does not fail at it. There could maybe be some family members opinions about different design professionals you contacted but always the peace of mind and your feelings will speak by themselves.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
There are some important points to take into consideration before talking to your pro:
Budget
Time Frame
Design style
Realistic Goals
With that being clear and well defined, the first meeting with your designer will be so easy to follow and start a plan and the design proposal based on what you said.
