Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We offer a free phone consultation at 786-419-3647 or 954-923-3440 during which we learn more about our clients' dogs(s) and training needs, we share our experience and training approach and we quote the client and explain our different options for their individual case. Once they are ready to schedule our first lesson, we do so and we make sure to get there on time. We strive at giving ethical and professional dog / pet advice.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
With over 27 years of professional dog training experience, formal education in Psychology and over 20 years of Certified Master Dog Trainer and countless referrals from professionals in the field, K9 ADVISORS is South Florida's Premier Dog Training company.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Our pricing is based on the level and amount of work that we may have to do. So, we customize our pricing as we customize our lessons for our clients. We accept, cash, checks and all major credit cards. For pricing and all other information, it is best to call or text 786-419-3647
How did you get started in this business?
Started training police and personal protection K9's and eventually I was running a large dog training facility while paying for my college degrees. Gradually, I began doing more in home and on-location canine behavior modification training as I developed into more trainers and more training services offered as well as training areas covered.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We work with all types of customers - from customers with basic puppy training needs to those with severe aggression training needs. We also work people that may be sports stars and TV / Radio personalities to the average family with varied family dynamics. We enjoy having a family feel safer with their family protection dog as well as having an autistic, diabetic, or epileptic child feel more secure with their service or assistance dog.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I have a greater value for therapy dogs when my own Golden Retriever, Bentley, helped an Autistic child speak after his mother passed away very young and the child had become very introverted and would not communicate at all.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Do your research. Interview various trainers on the phone and make sure to read their reviews. You may reach us for an interview faster when you text us to 786-419-3647
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Ask about the trainers' experience levels and areas of expertise, their methods of training and their expected time frames and costs to resolve your specific dog training needs. Also ask for professional references such as boarding facilities, veterinarians, groomers, etc.
