Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We require proof of vaccines for all new dogs in our salon. This is not only for the safety of your dogs, but for the safety of our existing dogs as well. When you arrive for appointments, you will be asked to fill out a grooming agreement (it basically informs you of the risks of grooming, matting, age, ect...) You will be quoted a price, and after everything has been agreed upon, we will take your dog in the back and get to work! Your dog will go straight to the table to get their nails cut and preshave (helps to dry faster with less hair) if needed. After the bath, they will be dried in the kennel with circulating room temp. air. After they have dried COMPLETELY, we finish the groom with either a haircut, or brush out - depending on what service you purchased. Your dog will then get hair bows or bandana accordingly and you will be called for pick up.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Our grooming prices vary by breed, hair type, and temperment. If your dog is aggressive or elderly we may implement a special handling fee. Please call us for details
What types of customers have you worked with?
We work with ALL kinds!!! We service every dog...from the tiniest yorkies and chihuahas, to Burmese Mountain dogs and great Pyrenese, and EVERYTHING in between!!! If your dog needs a shave or a breed specific haircut, we have someone to take excellent care of your dogs needs!!!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Look around!!! Just like all of us humans, dogs have their own personalities. You MUST find the groomer your dog is - at the very least - ok with. Some dogs are just scared of everything and everyone, will your new groomer work slowly to build a relationship so grooming becomes positive experience? So I would just say' "Use Caution" and choose a groomer like you would choose a daycare provider for your children :)
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Make sure you know what you want. If you don't express what you would like the haircut to look like, it will be hard to make you a happy customer...I recommend you bring a couple pictures that reflect what you would like your dog to look like. Please pick a picture that has similar hair and looks as your dog.
If your dog is aggressive or excitable, make sure you ask how the dog will be handled...these types of personalities MUST be handled with great care, and you should know the person your dog will spend the next several hours with has the patience to handle the task at hand ;)
