What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First we have a free phone evaluation so clients can chat with with me about their pets, their needs & how I am able to best assist them.
When clients decide I am the right fit for themselves & their pets, we will then set up an in-home appointment so I can meet the pets that I will be either caring for, or a first training session for clients wanting dog training.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have taught dog training classes & provide private dog training for over 35 years.
I am a Certified Professional Dog Trainer by the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers, the only independent certifying organization for the dog training profession.
I have completed many certification courses & programs with Cornell University & the Association of Professional Dog Trainers.

My fees for in-your-home pet sitting include basic house sitting:
$15 / day for 1 daily premium care with feeding visit for 1 CAT.
$50 / day for 2 premium care with feeding visits ($20 each), plus 1 yard potty visit ($10) for 1 DOG.
Additonal pets & services are extra.
My fee for single dog training sessions are $85 each.
I offer Discounted Prepaid Packages of sessions as well.
My group dog training courses are $125 for 6 weekly classes held at an indoor air conditioned fascility.

How did you get started in this business?
I have always had an empathetic connection with animals.
It became my lifelong passion & dediction to learn how to care for & understand why animals behave as they do.
Even so, as an adult when I got my first dog, I spoiled him completely rotten. Before he was a year old, I needed desperately to find help to retrain him & get him under control. We began group obedience classes offered by the local AKC club. Within a year I was apprenticing to teach group dog obedience courses.
During this time I discovered dog sport competitions. Since, I have actively competed with my canine partners in dog obedience trials, tracking tests, conformation shows, & dog agility trials.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have found that pet lovers come in all ages and from all walks of life.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I love competing at agility trials with my dog Petey.
Petey & I not only enjoy running together in agility, we both also really enjoy seeing & visiting with all our human & canine friends at the trials.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
There are many good trainers around, but pick someone with the personality that feels like the right fit to work with you & your dog, a pro that listens & communicates well with you.
Search for a pro that primarily trains with positive reinforcement for long term good doggy manners for your dog & that builds trust & respect between you & your dog.
