About

Hello, my name is Anthony Giovinazzo, I offer grooming and training services for dogs, cats and horses. My services have a strong focus on mantle wellbeing. Services offered to pets can often walk hand in hand with stress and in some cases severe stress. It is a priority of mine to minimize and potently eliminate this stress through an "Understand, teach and communicate" philosophy. If the pets we provide services for can be taught and learn what to expect from us they will better understand what's expected of them in this process, thus greatly reducing stress.

I have had fur babies my entire life. I believe that the pets we keep are not just pets but rather, a part of the family. It is also my belief that this level of coexistence can be best accomplished through proper teaching and learning in the from of communication with our furry family members.

I started training my own pets in 1993 and grooming them in 2000. I started my professional career in pet services at Petco in 2010 where I have been certified as a pet stylist as well as a dog training instructor. Although I did receive training there the majority of my knowledge has come through my own study and experience. During my time working in this "big corporate setting" I noticed many many flaws how the services of pets were performed.

I made many attempts to set a better course and raise awareness only to find my voice was small and unheard. Where productivity and money brought in far out weighted the mental and physical wellbeing of the pets being cared for. Furthermore I noticed that this train of thought and way of doing business (for the most part) seemed to transfer throughout the industry. This became even more evident when I realized that pet parents are under the impression that this is just how things are. This is something that needs to change, immediately. I hope to set a new and better standard in the way pet services are performed and how service providers interact with clients and the pets they service.

They say "Do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life." I, am truly doing what I love. I have always had a strong connection with the pets I've cared for and what I love most about what I do now, is being of service to and helping people and their beloved furry family members.

I'm am certified by Petco on paper. However that does not stand for much as a good deal of certifications are meaningless without a passion for doing what's right. My interests and experience have lead me through years of self study directly working with animals.

I have always had a passion for animals and people. Along with the fact that I have always had dogs and cats of my own I knew from a young age I would spend the majority of my time helping people and the pets. 90% of my working career has been in pet retail and pet services.

I have worked with all kinds of customers throughout my career.

One event that will always stand out to me is when I met a puppy named Bella. Bella is a goldendoodle. She was unruly, she had no manners whatsoever. I saw right through that, I could see with one eye she wanted to be good. She just didn't know how to. Her coat was in very poor condition due to previous groomers not being able to work with her activity level. Her pet parents were running out of options and worries they may not be able to keep her. I started seeing Bella weekly and the transformation that took place in the weeks to come was nothing short of remarkable. Bella whole world turned around. She has become truly part of the family. Her insecurities melted away and she

Don't be shy in asking questions. Be observent of how the professional interacts with your furry family member. Watch for signs of stress, from your fur baby of course but more importantly the professional. If we, as professionals get stressed mistakes and lapses in judgment can occur. This is not a field for anyone. It's up to you to choose wisely.

This is a services industry. Anyone in this field will most likely be good at smooth talking. All the questions in the world can not replace observation on your part.
