How did you get started in this business?
I got tired of seeing some good people being lead in the wrong direction, when it came to doing house repairs, that a inspector gave the wrong advise on. So I decided to start my bussiness to help others know what they are buying, and to give a honest inspection.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have helped the First time home buyer, to real estate investment Companies.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I have had more then afew inspections, where the house looked almost new, only to find hidden wood rot, in attics , behind A/C systems, inside the house under the windows and under the sinks. I found bad electrical systems, where the lines got taped together, outside of the electrical boxes.
"BEWARE OF THE PAINTED PIG'
You can always paint the house the color you like latter.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Don't hire a company, that sends out 2 or 3 people.Chances are they will rush the inspection and miss something.
A good inspection will take some time. Plan 3 more hours depending on the size of the house.
Don't hire someone to save $25 to $50.. Most of this companies are just out for a quick dollar.
A good company, may charge more, because they have bills to pay just like you and they relay on their reputation, to make a fair and honest living.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Ask about there training. Ask about their License and Insurance.
Ask them any question you want. If I don't know the answer, I'm going to look it up, so I know it for the next time.
