Having moved 13 times, I know Selling and/or Buying a home isn’t always easy.   As a full-time Realtor, I strive to make the whole process not only simple & easy, but memorable too!  Starting with our first Consultation through to after Closing, I understand the stress of moving, while juggling a home, family & career, which is why I use my “Claire Cares” approach.  I especially love serving and working with our Military!  Because I come from a military family, it is especially important to me to take care of those who serve our country – past and present.   As a Real Estate professional, I have received a special certification to help our military personnel called the Certified Military Residential Specialist.   To better serve my clients, I continue to take educational classes and have the ABR, SFR, SRES and CMRS designations.  Adding another dimension as to how I can help, I am a credentialed ASP® Home Staging Realtor.  Having a broad background in Residential, New Home Construction, Commercial and Industrial Real Estate, there is never a dull moment!  I also hold leadership roles within various business organizations and Non-Profits that I am a proud member to be a part of.  A portion of my income is donated each year back into our community.

    We were in need of a larger warehouse, in a good location, at a great price, with specific parameters and we needed it in less than 3 months! Talk about unrealistic demands. Claire went to work immediately! She showed us a few spaces, but none of them fit our parameters; especially our budget. Time was moving so fast and panic was starting to creep in. Claire was a cool cucumber and asked for my specific needs. Again we were low on time and working with an unrealistic budget but Claire stated.. "Well if that is what you are looking for then that is what we will find". She was very confident which was encouraging. Long story short Claire found exactly what we were looking for and what was more impressive was that it wasn't a public listing in any paper that I saw. She really dug in and was so focused on getting us a place before our deadline that we didn't sign an agent agreement until after we knew the new location would work for us. Finally, In a world of declining customer service, and what seems to be a general lack of consideration and kindness. Claire's customer service and expertise came shining thru. Many companies have mission statements, slogans and billboards. That is all well and good but, at the end of the day if you were to ask me to sum our experience up with one statement it would simply be...... "Claire Cares".

    We cannot speak highly enough of our experience with Claire Chivington. Claire is a very kind person, helping us with a lot of time and dedication to get the house that we were looking for and not a house to buy quickly. It took several houses to go around looking at and we never felt forced to make an offer. Claire walked us through every step of the closing process making for an easy interaction. Claire provided us with excellent home inspectors and she was always there to answer our questions. Claire’s selling price analysis was a precise exercise in which her knowledge of the neighborhood provided insight into the market. This resulted in a final sale very close to our asking price and above our original expectations. In addition, she knew how to market our home. The pictures on our listing made us almost regret selling the place!     For a year I had my property listed with a different agent/realty company prior to meeting Claire. The experience with the prior agent, unfortunately, did not meet my expectations. Then I enlisted the services of Claire Chivington from Lusk & Associates, Sotheby's International Realty. The first day she came to the property and walked through - she thoroughly evaluated the property and picked up on various nuances that come with a home built centuries ago. The property was unique and needed a "perfect" buyer - Claire discussed various marketing techniques on how she would present the property for sale. She brought numerous prospective buyers to the table and in each case I was very comfortable knowing she had my best interest at heart. She would sit down, present and explain the offers - both the pros and cons - but ultimately accepting my decisions on the offers. She then found an interested party and through considerable negotiations we came to an agreement of sale. The buyer had a few minor requests prior to closing and Claire diligently worked with me to get them finished. The week before closing it was discovered there was a legal issue that needed to be resolved before we could close. Claire spent a considerable amount of time speaking to my attorneys, the title company and the buyers agent to help me resolve this matter . Although closing was delayed for a week, Claire even stepped up to represent me at the closing as I was unable to attend due to other commitments. Yes I trusted her that much! Having been a real estate professional and owning and developing commercial real estate for years, this is by far the most complicated and difficult closing I have encountered. Claire handled every detail throughout the process with professionalism and with attention to detail. You will NOT find a more qualified, considerate, hard-working agent as Claire. I can honestly say, having dealt with many, many realtors over the years, Claire stands out above the rest!! Thanks Claire for your tireless efforts to sell my property. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

When I meet with a Buyer for the first time, I like to meet them at my office and talk with them.  I want to learn about them as a person, what they would like in a home and what is important to them.  If they have not met with a Lender, I will introduce them to a few Lenders, in which they can call them at their leisure.


What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I love to learn, so I attend classes that I feel will help me to be a better Realtor in servicing my clients.  I have designations in the following areas:

ABR - Accredited Buyer's Representative

ASPR - Accredited Staging Professional Realtor

CRMS - Certified Residential Military Speciality

SFR - Short Sale & Foreclosure Specialist

SRES - Seniors Real Estate Specialisty


How did you get started in this business?

Read my Bio!  I've moved several times and what I didn't say in my Bio is that not every move has been great.....in fact our last move here, to Lancaster PA was terrible.  Both Realtor's (our "Buyer's" Agent and the Selling Agent) did not do their job, did not do right by us and we ended up spending several thousands of dollars (which we did not have) to take care of the issues.  Sad to say, but after the transaction was done - both Agents "disappeared".  We were left to struggle and correct the problems on our own - I don't want that to happen to someone else!!


What types of customers have you worked with?

I have worked with and continue to work with people from all walks of life - from those who are buying their first home which may be all of $24,000 all the way up into the millions.  From Seller's who are selling their homes ($35,000) all the way into the millions.  I treat each person the way I want to be treated and respect them.  Their money is their investment - doesn't matter the dollar amount.


Describe a recent project you are fond of.

Meeting a 92 year old former POW who has the most remarkable story and outlook on life.  I had the priveledge of helping him sell his life-long home.  He was the highlight for me!!


What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?

Always interview them, check them out and be comfortable.  Can you trust this person with one of the most important decisions you are making?

Check the Realtor out - do they have references?  Reviews?


What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?

Can I trust this person?  I am divulging personal information and trusting them with a huge investment (whether the price is small or large - either way it is your money).  I need to feel comfortable.
