Bloom Design
About
Well-conceived interior design is a road map to interiors that are beautiful, functional and appropriate– spaces that promote balance in our lives. As the great designer William Morris would say- there should be nothing in your house that is neither beautiful nor functional. Good design is not a sugary desert.
My job, as a designer, is to help my client define the functionality and aesthetic of their project that meets the client's needs and preferences, not necessarily my own. The designer provides a practiced creativity that responds to these needs and helps to identify all that is necessary whilie eliminating everything that is extra. Working together in this way designer and client can reclaim home and office as sacred space.
I have been involved in the world of interior design, architectural interiors, custom furniture and custom manufacture for more than 30 years, primarily in New England and greater New York. My long and deep experience allows me, on a job by job basis, to develop a preliminary design concept, layout and aesthetic that can be presented to my client for review, comment and approval. Upon design approval I will put all work out to bid for on site work, custom manufacture or wholesale product purchase.
I am a long standing member of the American Society of Interior Designers and the Architectural Woodwork Institute, which has given me strong professional standing and access to quality suppiers and contractors. Please see any of the following to review my projects, connections and work background:

We spend most of our time indoors, at home or at work, for better or worse. So it is necessary to have access to home and work environments that are functional, welcoming and beautiful. This is easier said than done- most of us know what we'd like, but it's hard to know how to get there. I'd like to visit my kids in Chicago, but without a map and a car or a plane ticket it's hard to get there. The thrill of being an Interior and furniture Designer is that I can provide the map and the plane ticket. This is both a delight and an honor.
