Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Phone or in office interview, site or home visit, developing a scope for the work including clients expectations, wishes, vision for the project. Design and budget review sessions though preparation of final documents for construction. Selection of contractor and overseeing the project through construction completion.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BARCH from University Of Miami Florida. I studied in London at the Architectural Association and graduated in Suttgart, Germany working for a local firm there. I have worked for companies in Budapest (Imre Makovecz), Big Sur California (Micky Muennig - Architect of the Post Ranch Inn Resort and Esalen new baths). I started my company in Telluride, Co. 13 years ago. I now have an office in Aspen (main) and Telluride and do work across the state.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
It is project by project.
How did you get started in this business?
It started when I was in highschool, I knew as a junior that Architecture was what I awnted to do. I chose a school that would excelerate my learning so that I could go out into the world ready to start. Before I graduated I had already started my internships and once completed sat and passed the exams fand received my licensure. Within a few years started my own firm. I love design. I love working with clients creating their dream homes.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Mostly residential, some remodels, some commercial. I have a high profile spa currently under construction.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
There should be a feeling of confidence in the Architect you choose. They also need to be a good listener and hear what you are really saying.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
I prefer to take a less conventional avenue on this one. I feel that too much architecture leaves fancy and play out. I would suggest that clients come to the table with your dreams, even childhood dreams of castles or treehouses. Have some fun, its your dream home.
