Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to do a phone chat first to get a feel for exactly what my client's expectations are.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been training dogs, cats, bunnies, exotic pets all my life. I grew up training animals as early as the age of 5yrs old. I have worked with the lions and tigers that were used in commercials at American Furniture. Some of my pets have been trained to do stunts and were features on tv show such as Pet Star with Mario Lopez, America's Funniests Home videos, Local News. We won $5,000 first place on American's Funnies Home Videos which was a video I put together of my famous flying Squirrel, Rocky. I have also recently worked with aggressive dogs with amazing success!!!
How did you get started in this business?
I have been working with animals all my life, it's a natural gift from GOD.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Professionals, stay at home moms, males and females, veterinarians, you name it.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
January 2020 I had the pleasure of working with a very aggresive dog that bites whenever he feels like it. He has had $4000.00 worth of special training prior to me working with him. He still has issues, in fact you can't look him in the eyes for more than 5 seconds without him growling at you and you can't pet him. After one day of working with him, he was kissing me, making me pet him, and I could stare at him as long as I wanted with no growling. It was very easy for me to figure out what he wanted because I let him show me and then I showed him what I wanted from him with positive reinforcement. I fell in love with him and now I have become his main babysitter.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Try to hire someone who really cares and loves animals. You can tell by the way they talk about them. Results should be fairly quick and not drawn out for a long periods of time. Dogs are very smart and if you give them commands in a way they can easily understand, they are like butter in your hands.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Am I frustrated with my dog? Am I stressed because of my dog's behavior? Is it worth hiring a pro to correct my dog's issues?
