My husband Joe, and I did not know what to do with our 4-month-old yellow lab, Cali -- we had no clue about how to teach her obedience or curb her developing bad manners. We called Suzy as a co-worker recommended her. Based on our first phone conversation with her I already had the confidence that she was going to really be able to help us with our puppy. We chose Suzys doggie boot camp (boarding and training). When Suzy came to our house to pick up our crazy puppy, Cali got so excited and untied Suzys shoes, I think, 5 times. Suzy was very good at easing our minds and assuring us all would be ok.

When we picked up Cali after her training, I could not believe she was the same dog. Suzy and her dogs were able to show Cali how to be a proper dog. There was no more crazy licking, running around, or un-tying of shoes. Suzy then showed us all the commands Cali was able to learn (sit, stay, down, heal, wait, leave it, come). Truly, Suzy was able to show us how to communicate with our dog, and was able to show her how to be a good calm dog. We were all happier for it.

It is now almost a year later, and we think Cali is the best dog in the whole world, and we have Suzy to thank for it. I would recommend her training to anyone.

Last year I brought my Labrador retriever Satchel to Suzy, with Heavenly Dogs obedience training. I was at my wits end with this hyper little devil, and I had heard she was the best. After Suzy was finished training him, his entire attitude had changed: he was obedient, calm, and about the best companion an owner could ever want. We started Lola training with Suzy at 3 months of age. She was quite a stubborn puppy who we could not even get to leave our yard to take on a walk. Within one session we noticed positive changes and were able to walk her down the street. Suzy understands dogs and trained us to be better owners. Lola is now 10 months old and visits Suzy on occasion when we are out of town. Every weekend that she comes back from Suzys, she has had the reinforcement of our training which is really beneficial.

For many years, weve been saying we need to get a trainer for our dog, Hoku, but at 3 lbs., his bad habits (or lack of authority over him) were a lot easier to ignore than in bigger dogs, so I kept putting off investing in training. Finally, after the birth of our first child, Hokus aggressive barking at visitors as well as people on the street started to get worse. He was feeling jealous and displaced and was starting to bite people. We were definitely at the point where the situation was negatively impacting our quality of life (not to mention the potential danger to others) and we felt we finally had to do something. We stopped by Suzys shop and told her a bit about our concerns, as well as what we were willing and able to do to fix these problems. Right away, we felt very comfortable with Suzy, and felt we learned so much just from our consultation with her. She gave us a few options for training, but felt that having Hoku come and stay with her would probably be the most effective. We were definitely reluctant to be without our crazy but loveable guy for a whole month, and also felt it was a little more than we were able to spend. Suzy was flexible, and we were able to figure out a plan that worked for both of us. We could tell that she truly wanted the best for our dog! Hoku stayed with Suzy for 2 weeks and after which we did some training with Suzy at our home. We are SO thrilled with the results, and now have a much calmer, happier dog! I cant even begin to express what a wonderful and easy experience working with Suzy has been. I only wish we had done this 4 years ago!

Suzy is a great trainer. She is very patient with wild pups and their confused owners. Suzy began working with my Old English Sheepdog, Hejduk, when he was 6 months old. Today he is a well behaved 2½ year old who weighs 110lbs!

We started bringing Murphy McGee to Suzy at Heavenly Dog to learn basic skills and leash training when he was just a few months old. Suzy is one of those special people who just seem to be able to Speak Dog Language, and Murphy responded to her right away. Not only did Suzy teach him basic commands (Sit, Stay, Down, etc.), she helped him to learn the canine socialization techniques necessary for all urban dogs. People regularly comment on what a friendly and non-aggressive Jack Russell Terrier Murphy is; Suzys early behavior modification work made him a wonderful four-legged citizen.

We enrolled Murphy in Suzys month-long Boot Camp when he was a year old. It was hard to be away from our little guy for so long, but we could hardly believe the positive changes in his behavior when we got him back. He had learned an arsenal of helpful advanced commands, and was more responsive, happier, and eager to please than ever before. Our friends couldnt believe what a little gentleman he had become! We recommend Heavenly Dog Boot Camp to all of our dog-owning friends, our friends-friends, co-workers, and random people I meet in the park. I believe Suzys programs are essential for raising a happy dog with an even happier owner; her work is worth every penny.
