Frequently asked questions

I ask clients 1) where they live - i have a limited travel area. Denver and Aurora only. South of 56th Ave, East of I-25, North of Bellevue  Ave.(typically) West of GunClub. 2) What kind of dog they have - due to injuries, I am unable to handle very large dogs (like G. Shepards) I prefer dogs under 30lbs.  If their answers are within my criterior, I begin scheduling for their 1st session. 3)Typically, texting and email responses from me are preferred to ensure the conversation is recorded to try to prevent confusion.

I have groomed for 15 years. I was taught by a professional groomer in 2002 when I bought their video classes (early years of the internet).  No schools were located where I lived then. I  continue to attend countless grooming shows where I take classes; I learn by watching and continue to learn from live-educational classes offered periodically in the state. I keep up by watching grooming videos available online; I read books, subscribe to magazines, talk to other groomers, etc. Never-ending education!

Yes, I have 1) a standard fee per breed with add-on services that go beyond th scope of merely a bath and a haircut. This may make K9 Kids' prices a bit higher than brick and mortar shops.  ex.: De-matting takes time but I have a method of do that that reduces stress and pain on the dog and is easier to perform for me. This results in reducing having to SHAVE the dog to the skin for minor mats. My goal is to leave as much hair as possible. 2) A Travel charge is included in the standard price.

We started the grooming business in the garage in back of my small country home in Kingston Springs, TN in 2002.  After renovating the space using all recycled materials, myself and business partner  opened for business servicing the farm communities surrounding us. We learned as much as we could about grooming all breeds and mixed dogs by attending professional classes, videos, hands-on, working in pet salons, watching other groomers, books, seminars... and we will continue to do whatever it takes to be the best we can for your pet.

Not sure what you mean, "types of customers"....We work with everyone!

Give clear instructions or find a picture you like of a finished dog and give it to your groomer. Instruct them to look at the photo through out the grooming process, not just once.

Get a good undertanding of mobile grooming.  We generally don't work at the drop of a hat. It is best to schedule in advance, 1-2 weeks, if possible. Many mobile groomers are booked at least 6 mos to a year in advance, but may at times have periods when they have an opening or are willing to make exceptions.
