Muddy Paws Training & Behavior
About
Dog training is a journey and I love going on that journey with you! Not every dog's behavior is the same nor should they be treated like it! Your dog is an individual and I create training plans specifically for you and your dog. Training doesn't have to be super hard and confusing. If the right training plan is created for you and your pet then training will be clear and successful.
I have been a professional trainer for six years. I have a bachelors degree is Zoology and Animal Behavior.
I believe in the LIMA model of training (least intrusive, minimally aversive) which is one of the most humane methods of training all animals. The point of training is to teach your dog how to live in the world and give them rewards when they do a good job! There is no reason to involve corrective tools.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When working with new clients I like to meet or talk on the phone for a free consult. This is an opportunity to meet and talk about goals and what you would like from training. Following up after the conversation I will reach out and give you more information regarding training and then set up your first appointment!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have my bachelors degree in Zoology and Animal Behavior. I worked for 3 years as a trainer at the Denver Zoo, Downtown Aquarium and Raptor Center. Following that I became a certified dog trainer and have been training dogs specifically for the 3 years.
