Jodie has always had a love for design. Even as a young girl she loved being involved in decorating her room and spent hours antiquing with her mother. After college Jodie was fortunate enough to work with some very talented designers who taught her a lot about the business. In 2000, Jodie started taking on her own clients and hasn't stopped since. Jodie and her family had the amazing experience of living overseas in Naples, Italy from 2005-2009. Being engrossed in the European culture definitely influenced Jodie's design sensibility. When she and her family arrived back in the states, Jodie decided it was time to start her own design business, and Jodie Okun Interiors was born!

Jodie continued with design clients in the Washington, DC area until 2013. Then her family had the opportunity to move overseas again. This time to Bahrain, a small, country in the Middle East. In Bahrain, Jodie once again immersed herself in the local culture and started working on design projects. She also had the unique opportunity to work with a high-end furniture store on the island. Jodie was solely responsible for the designing and buying for the store and accompanied the owner each year at Highpoint Market.

During her four years in Bahrain, Several of Jodie's client projects were featured in Arabian Home Magazine.

Jodie loves the challenge of pairing her vision with her client's taste and coming up with a fantastic design. For Jodie, a well decorated home should be comfortable, inviting and look as if it evolved over time with a mix of old and new. It is important to Jodie that her clients come home to a space they love and are surrounded by things that represent who they are.

As of summer 2017, Jodie and her family are starting a new adventure in Ventura, CA., where she will once again be designing her warm and inviting interiors.

I typically speak with my clients on the phone first and then set up an initial consultation in person at their home. We meet for an hour and I gather information on their project, then give them an idea on how much it will cost.

I have been designing interiors for almost 20 years and had my own business since 2009. 

I charge $125 per hour for my design services. Any furnishing purchased through me have varying discounts.

What I love most about my job and the way I work, is the variety of clients I get to collaborate with. I always like to tell my clients that no project is too big or too small, and I like them to set the pace. I have been fortunate enough to live overseas for a few years and have amazing experiences working with clients from other cultures.

Meeting your designer in person is invaluable. It allows time to make sure you comfortable with one another and that you share the same vision for your project.
