After having my car engine cut out at 65+ miles an hour on the 101 last night, we fortunately coasted to the right shoulder and noticed we had limited electrical power too. With faint flashers on we made the call to AAA and were helped by a very kind woman who dispatched CHP and a tow truck to our location. We were advised to stay in the vehicle with our seat belts on. Juan Lopez the Roys Towing driving arrived in about 10 to 15 minutes....before any sign of CHP. He put on all the emergency lights immediately which instantly made us feel more visable. He introduced himself, checked our AAA card and ID, and asked us to pop the hood. He sensed a familiar odor and within a few minutes diagnosed a problem with the alternator after using his battery charger device to rule out a dead battery. After carefully loading our car on the flatbed, he fully explained the cost involved with towing beyond AAAs free 7 mile radius. We happily paid the extra mileage to have our car towed to the dealership in Ventura. En route Juan was friendly and courteous. This job can be dangerous. We are grateful for his kindness and his rescue of us off the 101 last night.
