Kuhlman Connection
About
i have been spending 8 hours a week volunteering my free time into training the aggressive/reactive dogs for All For Love Animal rescue 501c3. My purpose in life is to create a stronger bond between pet parents and their fur companions. I teach people how to understand how all dogs communicate with us using their body language and expressions. At the same time I also thoroughly explain how we can use our body language, vocals, and expressions while teaching positive reinforcement training. My passion is all things canines. I can talk about dogs for hours so never ever hesitate to ask me a question. 805-312-3189

I don’t call this work. This is my meditation. I am very grateful to be giving the opportunity to spread peace and comfort in every home I pass through.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My rate is per visit and not per hour. I do not like to focus on time when training. On average, ifthe pet parent(s) are involved with the training, it can be up to two hours. I start by having the pet parent tell me all about her pup, the good and the bad, then after going over what was just said I always let the customer ask as many questions as possible. Every dog/pup is different so I always start training with rewarding the dog with my attention when calm behavior is caught.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been training dogs for over 15 years. I have an extremely deep connection with canines. We understand each other on a whole different level where speech isn’t the most important form of communication. Body language is.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
It always varies. Dogs, like humans, have bad days of their own. Sometimes 30 min is all they will give us. It’s important to keep training fun!!! If that was ever the case though, $40 for 30 min and my normal rate per visit is $60-100 depending on location and needs. I am always open for discussion on my rates and love trading... Dogs come first in my life but my own need a roof over their head too. 🐾🐾😊
How did you get started in this business?
I started volunteering at the Ventura county human society in Ojai when I was seven years young. By nine I was in obedience group classes training my little dachshund puppy Mia and by 14 when I got Izzy, lab pit mix, I knew that this is what I would be doing for the rest of my life. I’m trying to give back to dogs what they have given me my entire life, unconditional love.
What types of customers have you worked with?
All walks of life. Professional athletes, lawyers, bondsmen, contractors, stay at home moms, actors/actresses, I’ve even trained other dog trainers. Like I said before, this is not a competition to me. I want to preach calmness and love to every family I meet.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Teaching 9 week old Rottweiler how to crawl and roll over. My heart melted when she did it first try.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
If your trainer seems rushed, they are the wrong trainer for you. A good trainer like myself, is on call 24/7 to answer all dog training needs.
