Artful Living: Keatin Holly Color

My speciallty has always been color and of course color effects all surfaces and elements of a design project so comes into play in all aspects of a home project. I have a background in Feng Shui and Color and Berkeley School of Int. Design. I enjoy working on full remodels down to smaller one room projects.

My projects stand out I believe due to my use of color and sometimes that can be whites and neutrals which are the most difficult colors to choose. I've been in business 20 yrs working from Healdsburg and Palo Alto to Sea Ranch and some commercial projects in So Cal.

My purpose is to make the home feel personal, not like a showroom and to reflect exactly who lives there. This is the challenge and the joy when achieved. I love the diversity of what I do. I love the people I work with and being exposed to neighborhoods, architectural styles and the uniqueness of each client. I particularly love placing and finding art which to me, is the centerpoint to the room. I also think lighting is crucial in terms of statement and function. I also love going to flea markets etc. finding found objects and unusual one of a kind pieces. I love working with my furniture restorer to give a new look to an old piece. I love working with the clients' older pieces to create an eclectic yet contemporary and cohesive feeling throughout. A beautiful room is not an accident. It is the result of creative collaboration and talent.
