What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will get a phone call or email. From this I will ask what are they needing done. Any specific concerns. What is their time line in needing the job done. Then a rice agreed upon and they are scheduled.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
With 30 plus years of construction and going through inline and classrom studies specific to home inspections. I have a certification with nachi.og. Then doing continueing education units and working in the field to keep current on building techniques and practices!
How did you get started in this business?
After 30 plus years in construction I decided to share my knowledge and experiance with a new gorup of people. THese are the home buyers and sellers. This is a stressful time anyway. I have set up to minimize this as much as possible. I am always looking for ways to relieve more stress from my clients! ! !
What types of customers have you worked with?
Any one that is buying, selling or just wants the house to get a once over to help keep it running at it best!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Choosing the right home inspector can be difficult. Unlike most professionals, you probably will not get to meet me until after you hire me. Furthermore, different inspectors have varying qualifications, equipment, experience, reporting methods and -- yes -- different pricing. One thing for sure is that a home inspection requires work -- a lot of work. Ultimately, a thorough inspection depends heavily on the individual inspector’s own effort. If you honor me by permitting me to inspect your soon to be new home, I guarantee that I will give you my very best effort. This I promise you.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
If you are the seller; Have an idea of things worked on and items your not sure about. Include things used every day ie. bathrooms, kitchen.
If they are the buyers; Make sure to get all major systems checked. Talke to seller about recent repairs. Age of the home and how long have they been living there.
For both sides getting the house inspected can really reduce the chances of unpleasant surprises later! Do not forget about the little uninvited guest! (bugs)
