About
I apprenticed with a groomer in Los Gatos in the early 1960’s so I have many years of experience. She taught me grooming skills, how to handle the pets, and effective ways of communicating with the clientele, and putting them at ease. In 1966 I purchased a kennel where I did grooming and boarding,
Also at that time, I became interested in dog shows. I began breeding and showing top quality toy poodles, so of course, I learned to do some show trims.
I opened The Foxy Hound in August of 1981. My shop is on the outskirts of Los Gatos. I enjoy the pets immensely. I enjoy being with them, and teaching them to enjoy their grooming. Also, in addition to making them clean and comfortable, it gives my creative side an opportunity to make them look good.
I’m still exhibiting toy poodles and take pride in their accomplishments. One of my puppies recently had a major win at the National Poodle Specialty in St. Louis.
