I help you to discover your style and create a home that supports you. Every person has a unique style and I have a system that helps you to discover the styles, colors, textures and shapes that will give them more energy and make you feel hugged by your home every time you walk through the door. I whisper to your home and find out what it and you need and create a place where you both can grow.
I love the transformation, not just of the home but of the people in it. Client come to me after a big change in their world and rediscover themselves along with their homes. I change people's live, improve the quality of life and create a home that they love to live in. Clients repeatedly tell me how comfortable the are, how happy they are and about how I improved a part of their live they had no idea design could improve.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to meet with the client in their home and see the scope of the project first. From there, I can create an estimate for what is going to be involved in the project and how much it will cost. If the client goes forward, then the initial visit is free.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a degree from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising and I have passed the NCIDQ test. I love literature and bring my love of history, sociology and psychology to my work as well.

How did you get started teaching?
I love teaching and I love interior design. My mother used to create house projects all the time and I got the bug. I love transforming homes and lives.
What types of customers have you worked with?
People who love their home and want to create a warm welcoming environment. Typically I get people in a time of deep transition, new job, new spouse, deceased spouse or family member, divorce. When lives change dramatically, it often needs to be supported by changes in the home. Our home is a reflection of ourselves and sometimes we need to change the home in order to figure out what the next part of our lives looks like. We have to create the vision of what we want to create. You finally got the new job or promotion, and you want your home to reflect it, wanting to feel successful in your home as well as at work and you want a place you can be proud to entertain in. If it's a new marriage, finding a happy blend of both personalities is key to creating that wonderful marriage that you dreamed of. In the case of death or divorce, it's a little more sensitive. There's a balance of past and future that needs to be honored and that's different for everyone, depending on how they deal with grief. In all cases, there's truly a rediscovery of self that needs to happen and "re-nesting" is a big part of creating that new identity.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
I think most people aren't really sure what they are hiring. They watch HGTV and think that's real and it's not. You want someone you have a good repoir with and that will listen to you, your preferences and needs.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
The budget is always a key part of any project. It sets the stage for the products and scope. Being realistic about budget is the key element in any design project.
