Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We like to talk to our customers to make sure that we ask all the proper questions about your vehicle. Getting all of your information on their vehicle lets us know just what kind of care your vehicle needs, so we can send out the right driver and truck to fufill your needs. The more information that we get helps us to do the best job that we can for you.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Our company has all proper license and permits. Each driver undergoes extensive background investigations and job-specific training/Certification.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Each tow is different in it's own way but we do have our standard rates for an in town tows. We do not charge by mileage. Medium, Heavy and Recovery tows are priced a little differently due to the extra care that our drive has to take with the vehicle. Those tows are charged hourly at a 2 hour minimum to be pre paid.
How did you get started in this business?
In 1995 to 2007 we started out as a husband and wife team that operated an auto body shop. When Stanislaus Towing Services was created and incorporated in 2006, it was the owner's original intent to provide a complimenting service to their current customers. While phasing out the auto body repair shop, the owners set a goal of recreating the public's opinion as it related to towing.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We have worked with a wide range of customers over the years. Our company has also worked closely with law enforcment. Sometimes working with the CHP dive team to recover water vehicle out of canals. Allowing the local fire department to use those same vehicles for their training.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Do your research and make sure that you are hiring a company that has experience and knowledge of vehicles.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
In towing, what type of company do you want to trust with your "baby?" Do you want a unexperienced driver or company that is just trying to make a quick buck? Would you prefer to trust a licensed and professionally trained company?
