Happy Tails Dog Training is our business name. We train dogs in homes and at our own location. We also board dogs at our home and can offer board and train options as well. My husband and I are both dog trainers and absolutely love all things dog! We use strictly positive reinforcement methods and will love your dog the way you do when they stay with us.
I have been training dogs for over 10 years and my husband joined me about 3 years ago. Everything we do is centered around the dog, not a generic structure. We focus on what your dogs needs are, whether it's anxiety, aggression, excitement or just naughty puppy behavior, we will help you find a path that suits the two of you best.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First I like to speak with them over the phone to get their full background with the dog.
Then I determine what I think the best training route will be for them and their dog.
I don't follow one lesson plan for everyone, every client gets their own personalized plan to fit their needs.
For private classes I usually take lead working with the dog for the first portion of the session and once I have the dog trained into the behavior, I let the owner practice what was just taught. I then show them how to work with the dog on the behavior and build it into a more advanced version of the behavior.
At the end of the session I write down what I want the client to do for homework, I give them a print out of all the steps went through in the class and what should be done on their own. Occasionally we take videos for reference during the class if the client wants them.

As for dogs, I do not discriminate either!
I have worked with chihuahuas, Great Danes, mastiffs, pitties, cavalier spaniels, Xolos, doodles, and many many more! Small, big, young, old, special needs it's doesn't matter!
