About
I’m Guy Cosman Cass, Architect, AIA, and I’ve been designing custom homes, additions, and remodeling projects from my studio in Santa Monica, California since 2003, (and large projects since 1985). It’s my passion and I’m thrilled to share it with my clients and their families every day.
The photos here and on my website (GuyArchitect.com) are the results of working closely with my clients and providing the home design of their dreams.
Our designing process is exciting, and there’s a practical side to all of this, too. My services include thoroughly evaluating your home site, establishing a realistic construction budget, finding the best contractors, keeping an eye on the construction progress until the house is complete.
I’m excited to hear your ideas, and share with you the joys of good home design. Shoot me an email at guy@guyarchitect or drop me a line and we’ll talk.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I typically meet with a prospective client to gather client and project information to determine a scope of work and prepare a proposal for approval.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a 5 year degree Bachelor of Architecture from SCI-Arc and have been a licnsed Architect since 1985. I am a member of AIA and NCARB. I have many years of experience.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
My fees are based on many factors which I gather during my constultation with my prospective client. My fees are very reasonable and often less than my Architect piers.
How did you get started in this business?
I had a passion for Architecture and construction when I was a young boy by visiting houses under construction near my home and building many small structures in my backyard. Since I excelled in math, art, and shop classes, I pursued Architecture in college and worked for many Architects.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked at large Architecture firms on Hotels, Freeway Alignments, and University projects including Historical Restorations of large Spanish style residences. Eventually I began my own private practice designing custom homes in 2003. I have worked with home owners and residential developers during my private practice.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
I recommend reading through my website "Process" page and making notes of questions to ask me during my initial consultation.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Its very helpful to mention a maximum project budget when meeting with an Architect so that everything can be based on this.
