About
My broad and lengthy experience. I really enjoy working in different aspects of design, thus all the different design angles like, Showroom staging, designing restaurants, HGTV work, Vacation home staging, etc. Whenever something comes up i have never done before, i instantly want to explore it.
I wak up everyday and love what i do. I love having a client that is overwhelmed and scared with a project and having them see if from a different perspective of fun and adventure.

How did you get started in this business?
I believe I was born to it. I grew up in a creative family and while the family business was fashion, my creativity always leaned towards spaces. Since I was young I would walk in a room and see a picture in my mind of what a room could look like, or more "wanted" to look like - versus what it did look like.
What types of customers have you worked with?
In 2014 I had the opportunity to work on several vacation homes, designing to be attractive for vacation rental. Homeowners that want to revamp their home or make it feel more "regionally inspired" and attract top dollar to their AirBNB. Beach house to look more coastal, a desert home to look more mid-century, etc. 2018 I received a call that changed my career, to work with TV production design, something i had never done before. It sounded like an adventure so i took and i have been working on and off shows since. They usually take 3-6 month to film a season so i get the pleasure of working with private clients in between shows. I have over a hundred E-design projects under my belt, It started as a way to transfer my ideas onto paper and give my clients a look of the final projects before implementing construction 10 years ago and has evolved in to a thriving portion of my career. I was a per diem Creative Director for an international casual living furniture company (fancy way to say patio furniture). I get to travel to design photo shoots for catalogs and showrooms for seasonal trade events. I work with homeowners who need help updating their homes, kitchen and bath remodels, "refreshing" homes for families who's needs are changing. Singles or first time homeowners who want to get rid of their "apartment furniture" or hand me downs and ready to create their own home look/vibe. I completed a 6000 sf gut renovation, top to bottom where clients needed it turn-key ready for their move from out of state. I needed to modernize the outdated house and work with pictures of their preexisting furniture. It was stressful and took much of my time but the results were amazing and i would do it again in a second!
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I designed furnished, accessorized and staged an AIrBNB in a week. They had guests coming in for Coachella Concert and the house was empty. It was an extreme challenge and very stressful but it came out beautiful and I'm really happy with the results. Here is the homes gallery to see pictures....laquintagetaway.com
I have had the privilege of working on restoration projects with Brett Waterman through Restored - i have learned a great deal from him, still learning actually. We work together outside of the show on Restoration projects.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Look at a designers work and find a designer who's style speaks to you. Be clear about your "Must haves" and your budget. Set reasonable expectations for your project. Do your homework, know what things cost. Don't compare yourself your home to HGTV projects, although HGTV homeowners put up the budget, we get a lot of freebies for the show so what you see in the final view is usually twice as much as the homeowners budget. Avoid spending too much time on Pinterest, it's endless and leads to continuous indecision. Listen and be open to designer advice - they are not attached to your home emotionally so they can guide you away from making expensive mistakes that you can't see because you are so close to it. Look for someone passionate - if they love what they do, it's infectious, you will love the process too.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Know your budget and have an understanding of what is important to you.
Articulate design priorities.
Educate yourself on what things cost.
Check out my new client packet, it has every question you could ask yourself and your designer to make sure everyone’s on the same page.
