About
Hello! My name is Allison and I am the owner of Peticularly Perfect. I had a very hard time finding a good place to board my Great Dane and decided to try a pet sitter. My experience was not optimal, and I knew then that I could do better... so much better. So I decided to open my own pet sitting business where I would know pets would get the best possible care and people wouldn't have to worry about the sitter not showing up or not doing a good job - because the sitter would be me! Now, over 6 years later, I have taught other sitters how to be amazing at pet sitting and we have over seventy 5-star reviews on Yelp! We cover all of North County San Diego and we are of course licensed, bonded, insured, background checked and Pet CPR certified!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We do a free consultation for pet sitting or a meet and greet for boarding/day care.
It's important to connect face to face and to meet the fur babies.
From there we make sure all info and instructions are in our online software program and everything is booked in appropriately.
With access to your online account you can request services, cancel, pay invoices, check your schedule and view past photo updates from sitters. You can also add photos of your pets and change/update care instructions.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a professional dog trainer for over 10 years. I believe my experience with dog psychology and behavior is perfect for passing on to our team of sitters and using to keep things fun and friendly here at daycare and boarding :)
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
We have set rates that are based on time. Boarding for example is per 24hrs and pet sitting visits range from 15min visits all the way up to 24hr care and are set at that base price - we do not charge more for additional pets or holiday service. We also offer discounted rates for veterans and active military, seniors, teachers and for anyone who is actively fostering a pet.
How did you get started in this business?
I got started years ago out of frustration with the industry. I wanted to build a business that was based on honesty and integrity.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with all kinds of clients and pets alike. We try to cater to different personality types as some people want a lot of feedback and details and others need minimal instructions and reassurance. Our software program helps to tailor services to the specific client's and pets' needs.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
We were recently hired by a couple who had tried pet sitting in the past, had a terrible experience and vowed never again! Then they had to leave town for a funeral and trusted us with their home and pets. They have now taken several vacations since then and left us a wonderful review for how we were able to bring their faith in pet sitters and how they actually felt so good after getting our photo updates that they were able to relax and not worry - just focus on family and enjoy the time they had with them.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
I would say to think things through and be sure you know what you want. Many clients aren't sure of what services they want or they think they want just one sitter to form a special relationship with - not realizing that if that sitter becomes ill or is unavailable then there is no other option. We work as a team and try to provide options, back up, support and teamwork.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
How long would you like a sitter to spend with your pets?
What is your budget?
How will the sitter gain access to your home/pets? (We have clients use coded entry or a lock box with keys)
What other services might you need to consider? (watering of plants, taking out trash cans, bringing in mail, etc...)
