What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically we discuss the work to be done, if on-site inspection is needed then it's scheduled. After a proposal including work to be done and charges is sent over or agreed to. Once terms are reached, scheduling of work is set
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've spent 7yrs as a property manager and 2yrs as on-site maintenance staff. The last 6yrs has been spent providing handyman services for the greater Sacramento area. I've provided TV mounting, basic plumbing & electrical services along with landscaping and appliance installs. This past 2 years I began exterior and interior painting services as well as non construction cabinet maintenance and kitchen/bath remodel
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I use a project based pricing structure. The size and difficulty of the task dictate the cost in addition to material cost, to be reimbursed or paid up front by client. I prefer this method as this model minimizes up charges and increased cost for additional time needed vs a flat hourly rate.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have typically work with individual homeowners/renters, but also professional landscapers, interior decorators and landlords.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Customers should confirm charges and any costs for materials to be provided and/or provided by themselves. Including the general time needed to complete the job and if any special tools will be needed and provided by the pro.
