About
Our Ideal Customer
Matteo Designs ideal customer is someone who is restoring their home, renovating their home, or building something entirely new. In older neighborhoods, historic preservation is key, and this is an area of architectural design that we hold close to our heart. Aside from that, kitchens and bathrooms are two of our favorite areas to work in, as they have the potential to greatly improve a home's residential value. Our focus is on creating a sustainable, seamless integration of interior and exterior space — without the tell tale signs of alteration.
Matteo Designs interiors are well suited to the urban lifestyle that has become so intrinsic to the Interior Design landscape of today! As head of Matteo Designs, Matteo Bitetti is an Interior Designer with a distinct signature that he refers to as trans-millennial — an ‘of the moment’ style that marries traditional glamour with cutting edge design. His signature is reflected in relaxed and comfortable interiors that have both simple elegance and modern sophistication.
In addition to being an Interior Designer, Matteo is a musician with an operatic background. He has lived in Hawaii, Sweden, Austria, Germany and New York. This lends a certain lyrical quality to his design work due to his global understanding of Music and European Architecture.
While living in New York City, Matteo began designing loft Interiors — receiving the ‘Best of the Millennium’ award for bathroom design by the New York Times Magazine. After several years, he moved to Los Angeles to complete his design studies at the prestigious Cal Poly Pomona / UCLA Extension Collaborative ARC-ID program. There he received an Interior Design Certificate and an M.I.A.degree in Interior Architecture. As a student, Matteo was mentored by celebrity Interior Designer, Sandra Costa and later became her Senior Interior Designer — a position he maintained for 4 years. Under Sandra’s tutelage, Matteo worked on both commercial and residential projects, and gained a keen understanding of furniture and cabinetry design. Matteo is comfortable designing in all genres and brings a creative vision and passion to his work that is uncommon amongst his peers.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Each and every project is different and I do my very best to accomodate my clients' budget and needs -- it really depends on the circumstances. To begin working on a design, I charge a retainer fee based on the project's scope. The scope of work is also what determines the overall fee -- depending on the permitting process, length of time and so forth. Once a project is approved and has gone on to the building stages, I offer goods and services that are specificed in the design that will take the project through to completion. I buy products at a trade rate and sell them at competitve prices that are most always below retail. This helps my clients save money in the long run.
