Our company has grown from our dedication to quality and on our love for animals, and that love continues to be the foundation of our success. We know how difficult and heart-breaking it can be to leave your pets, whether you are away for the day or traveling for extended periods of time. We are dedicated to providing and maintaining a stress-free, loving and familiar environment for your pets. Our extensive knowledge, and ongoing educational programs in pet care, nutrition and safety, ensure all of the pets in our care have a great friend and guardian, and most importantly provide you, our client with security and peace of mind.
I've always had a passion for animals, dogs in particular, and I enjoy getting to know, just like us, and seeing how every single dog that stays with us to board, for example, has a very distinct and unique personality. It really is amazing to witness. And then to see how they each adapt in and interact with each other is so much fun witness.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically with new clients, we gather all of the information about their pet, type of pet, dog, cat, etc., age breed intact, spayed, neutered, etc. the type of service they're interested in, and some information about their needs and plans and from that we provide them with an estimate.
If everything is agreeable to the client after reviewing the estimate and answering any questions they might have, we set up a meet and greet with them either here at Golden Days, if they are interested in dog boarding or doggy day camp or at their place in they are interested in pet sitting or private dog walking services. In either case, we will email the client confirmation for their meet and greet and we will email them New Client Welcome Package.
The New Client Welcome Package addresses many of the questions and details that a new client will often have before they begin service. The package also contains documents for them to review, fill out, and electronically sign. The type of documents included in the Welcome Package will depend on the type of service they are interested in.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am certified in Pet First Aid and CPR, Animal Behavior and Psychology and have a masters degree.

Rates for overnight boarding start at $44 per night
A Season Supplement of $10 applies the week before and the week after major national holidays, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, and during the spring for Easter and Spring Breaks.
Dogs 12 months and younger add $10 per night
Intact Dogs add $10 per night

Prices are for visits within a 10-mile radius of Golden Days Pet Services. Visits outside this area will be charged an additional $2.00 per mile for each visit For example: if you live 12 miles from us $4 would be added to the cost of each visit to your home.

How did you get started in this business?
I actually started Golden Days in the middle of the great recession after being laid off from an executive-level position with a financial services company. I had always wanted to start my own business but never really know what I wanted to do. After reading an article in a financial magazine about the different ways people were navigating the challenging financial time we were having I was inspired to start Golden Days Pet Services.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We worker with all types of clients. From obvious ones you would think of pet parents to maybe some, you might not. Like Airlines who have flights delayed or canceled, foster pet programs that need a transitional place for dogs between their foster homes and their forever homes.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Look for a pet care professional that is committed to the profession. Someone who continually seeks out new educational and training opportunities to further anchor and expand their knowledge. Avoid sitters who are "part-time" or "hobby sitters'' who are doing this as a means to make extra money or as a side-hustle.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
How long they plan to board their dog and what time they would like to drop off and pick up their dog on the last day of their dogs stay with us.
How socialized their dog is and what support their dog might need prior to boarding their dog and during their dogs stay in order to make it as minimally stressful for their dot as possible.
