I recently hired Cactus Valley Homes to build a detached garage on my property. Over the years, I have hired many contractors to build homes and for many other projects. I can honestly say that I have NEVER worked with a contractor with such a high degree of honesty and integrity. When Don tells you something, you can always have confidence that it is the truth. I hired Don because his quote/bid was very fair, and he also assured me that the project would move forward without a bunch of waiting around for a new crew/subs to show up for the next step. Don assured me the project would move forward in a timely manner and he absolutely stayed true to his word. Everything moved forward very smoothly. And although I am not a contractor, I have been around enough building and know enough to see quality work and his work is of the HIGHEST quality. There was a small issue that came up with one of the subcontractors, and despite some resistance initially from the sub, Don made sure it was taken care of and taken care of quickly. I have absolutely no hesitation about recommending Don to anyone, and in fact have referred a few friends already. This company is a rare find (in a good way) and I would highly encourage anyone to hire them for any work you need done.

Don Burns is truly a professional. We called Cactus Valley Homes, along with several other contractors, to give us estimates on our project. He was personally available to quickly give us a very fair quote. We chose Don because of his professionalism, price and his ability to do all of the work with a high level of craftsmanship, design ideas and a made our home a resort oases to live in! He provided us with formal, written quotes and, Im happy to say, the costs did not exceed these quotes. Everyone at Cactus Valley Homes was there every step of the way. They gave us design advice as we chose the materials and planned the kitchen, bathrooms, flooring, and all required fixtures and yes even the paint colors. From there, he and his crew handled everything...plumbing, glass shower surround, granite counter tops, cabinetry, drywall, painting, fixtures and tiled the shower, backsplash, flooring and baseboards. Everything he touched turned out beautifully! Our happiness was Dons top priority. He was always available to answer our questions and checked in frequently to ensure that we were pleased with the progress. The finished product is perfect however, the best part about working with Don is that he is completely trustworthy. It means the world to us that we could have total peace-of-mind when we were away and he was working in our home. Its great to work with one contractor that can do every aspect of a project as we never had to worry about giving access to our home to different crews of people. He constantly went the extra mile, working with our busy schedules and accommodating our 2 big dogs throughout the process. Don is a pleasure to work with. He is a true, honest professional.

Long Distance Project Experience

Don Burns and Cactus Valley Homes completed renovation / additions of our entire home including the kitchen, family room, AZ room, study, hall bathroom etc. He also built a new addition for the master bedroom, master bathroom & closet. Don worked well with our MN based designer. Before bids were due Don brought his four main subcontractors (Plumbing, electrical, HVAC & cabinetmaker) to our 40 year old house to review the work. We received several great ideas that were incorporated into the project. Our project included new flooring in all rooms, upgrading plumbing and Electrical to code, new archway into AZ room, moving air handling to attic, expanding kitchen and adding island and new windows. Our project was completed on time -10 weeks. We were kept well informed in MN with daily reports on work completed and people on site as well as weekly pictures of progress. We are very pleased with the final results and received good value for the cost. We would highly recommend Cactus Valley Homes for any remodel / repair work and would definitely use them again. They were particularly great to work with by long distance and we were very comfortable turning our home over to him while being in MN. It was an excellent experience and especially the outstanding workmanship that was provided. I would recommend his team to anyone!

They did an excellent job on our project. Don and all his workers are skilled craftsman. Don sets high standards for himself as well as for his sub-contractors. The work was done on schedule, whether it was Don himself / team or his sub-contractors. He found areas on the drawings that were not consistent to what had been previously built, in this case framing, and made the changes. His work passed every inspection with no changes required. Don was responsive to my questions, during the project as well as the changes I made. The job site was cleaned up every day. We are very pleased with Don’s work and our project.

We were impressed when we first met Don Burns. He was very personable and had some great design ideas.

We remodeled all but the 3 bedrooms in our home. We put new tile throughout, tore out a wall and a ceiling, new counter tops and much, much more. We (my wife, stepdaughter and I, 3 dogs and 2 cats) were living in the home through this project. Don did his best to work around us and not displace us from the home more than he had to. Don did a magnificent job. With the care he gave us you would have thought he was working on his own home. It was the little touches that he did because he thought it would look better that way. Our home looks beautiful and my wife is thrilled with the results. The job was done on time and to budget.

This company is on time, professional, and does great work. Mr Burns and his crew has done several jobs at my home. The completed work is beautiful. I give Catcus Valley Homes 5 stars. B. Carter
