Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I always start with a free, no obligation training evaluation. This is done in person or over the phone depending on where you're located. This gives me a chance to ask lots of questions so I'm clear on where we're starting and what your goals are. This also gives you a chance to ask any questions and get to know me before training.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Before I trained dogs I worked in daycare and boarding where I learned tons about dog behavior and body language. I have worked under a mentor trainer and have been training professionally for about 7 years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I go by programs. Programs are all customizable so it's hard to say exact price but they range from $250 - $3000
How did you get started in this business?
I wanted to work with dogs and the veterinary field just wasn't the right fit!
What types of customers have you worked with?
Young and old, I'm happy to work with anyone who is happy to work with their dog!
Most people come to me for behavior mod or if they want to teach their dog manners, but I also love puppy consultations.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Shy dogs are usually my favorite. I love taking them from that to confidence and comfort. I thinks it's the most rewarding.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Do lots of research to be sure you understand and are comfortable with training methods. There are a millions ways to train a dog and if you're not comfortable with how someone trains you always have more options!
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Am I willing to put in the time and work with this dog?
You can hire a trainer to teach your dog but if you don't follow through at home there really won't be much benefit.
