What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When a customer reaches out to us, they will be communicating with our scheduler who answers our phone and speaks with our customers Monday thru Friday 8am to 4:30pm. She also answers all email inquiries. She is professional and very helpful and provides excellent customer service.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Each of our Craftsmen have at least 15 years of experience in all the trades. They also have passed a background check in order to work for Handyman Matters. We maintain an A+ rating on BBB, have won the Super Service Award from Angie's List the past 12 years in a row and were selected the Best of the Best 2017 Home Contractor from the Observer Reporter.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
We complete smaller projects on a time plus materials basis. We simply have a one hour minimum and then bill in 15 minute increments after that first hour. If it takes the craftsman 1.5 hour to complete the job you pay to that point not the full 2 hours. As far as materials are concerned, we work where we can provide the materials or you can. If we provide them we do have a markup of 30% some of our current customers have us pick them up or others have everything waiting for us. Either works on our end. Our rates are a $30 service charge and $72 an hour for labor We accept cash, check, Mastercard, Discover and Visa.
How did you get started in this business?
Randy and Sandra McMahon are the husband and wife team who own and operate Handyman Matters South Pittsburgh. The duo opened Handyman Matters in October, 2004 with the goals of providing quality workmanship and top-notch customer service to the South Pittsburgh area. They have worked hard to grow their business and provide quality workmanship, all while maintaining the highest standards of customer service.

Handyman Matters is bonded and insured, and also each employee must pass a background check in order to work for Handyman Matters. Each Craftsman has at least 15 years of experience in the trades.

How many years of experience in the trade the pro has, and do they carry insurance and are they bonded? Are the employees background checked?
