    Frequently asked questions

I like my clients to come to the inspections and follow me throughout. This way I can teach them about the house as we go along, I can show them issue I may find & explain the situation to them so they understand options, if any, and if the client has questions, it's easier to do this at the inspection as well. Much easier to explain to someone when they can see it, rather than trying to explain it over the phone. It becomes a very educational inspection for the client when they attend and follow me around. They leave educated about the house and now can maybe make a wise decision on whether to buy it or not.

I have been in the construction/building industry since 1982. I owned a construction company for 18 years prior to becoming a Home Inspector. I have built homes from top to bottom and completed several remodels throughout the years. As I became older the “labor” part of construction became harder on my body. In 1999 I was offered the opportunity to learn more about home inspections and become a Home Inspector. I have performed over 9500 home inspections since 1999. The experience and knowledge I have gained over the years has made me a highly qualified and reliable Professional Licensed & Certified Home Inspector.

All clients will need to call our office at 503-649-1814 for prices. All prices vary and all inspectors price the same way. Pricing is figured by the square footage, age & location of the home, so each home can be a different price. I'm considered a Master Inspector but I charge mid range pricing for my services. Three catogories of inspectors: Newer, Less Experienced = lower price, Experienced = med price, Master Inspectors = highest price, but not me.

I decided to go ahead and try it and 20 years later, here I am, a Master Home Inspector teaching others to become Home Inspectors, teaching Clients who are buying or selling, about homes and helping Non-Profits teach thier First-Time Home Buying classes. I love my job.
