We at Cooler Design help our customers to create or improve their built environments in which they live, work and play. We are a creative team inspired by every project we have. We take responsibility from the very first meeting to assure our clients get exactly what they want.
I most enjoy seeing my team working with our clients and seeing them happy with the completed solution to their needs. While it's always fun to see a unique solution to a problem, it is always more important to me that we develope solutions of various kinds within budget and on schedule.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I meet with them personally to listen to their needs, desires, budget and timeline and then present to them a plan for providing our professional design services to meet all of these objectives.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a Nationally Certified architect with a firm or 12 persons experienced in providing creative design solutions to our clients.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
We typically work on either a fixed fee as a result of knowing the full scope of work, or work on an hourly basis until the scope is known. Hourly expenses will always be credited towards fixed fee or Not-to-exceed amounts.
How did you get started in this business?
I grew up the son of an architect and then went to school for architecture and have since worked in the industry for almost 30 years. My firm of Cooler Design was created in 2005.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We work with Residential, Commercial, Industrial, Health Care, Higher Education, Religious, Retail owners.
Describe a recent project you are fond of.
Recently we renovated the historic downtown Main Street in Washington, IN to include a large new Rehab and Orthopedic Center along with a new restaurant. This was a beautiful repurposing of many of the older buildings in their town.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Find someone that you will enjoy communicating with that shows experience in many project types where you are able to best understand their creativity. Make sure they have shown the ability to deliever their work on budget and on time....if those are important issues for you.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
They should have a clear understanding of their needs and be able to communicate them to their designer. They will need to feel comfortable with a professional leading the design process as there is typically much to coordinate and as architects we are used to leading the entire process.
