About

In business for 14 years both in Philadelphia and SWFL, our team has experience with local residents and the many part-time residents who come here for the season.

Our principal, Sue Thomson, C.I.D. began as a kitchen and bathroom designer in her twenties and qualified as an interior designer a decade later. She is also interested in green design and is a member of the Sustainable Furnishings Council.

The Decorating Den Interiors team is comprised of a Project Manager who oversees kitchen and bathroom projects, and installations; our office manager Laura, and a second decorator.

We work with all styles and with many people who are transitioning South and are faced with furnishings that are the wrong size and color for Florida. Our advice is generally to bring a few prized pieces and leave the rest behind!

In 2017 we have received three awards for our design work, has an award-winning dining room featured in a decorating book, and had a kitchen and a bathroom featured in two magazines. We are having a kitchen featured in the Canadian magazine Arabella in January 2018.

Our team loves the challenge of creating spaces that clients will enjoy for a long time. Not only are we focused on the look and feel of a space but we also concern ourselves with the practicality of rooms that are designed for family living whether it be with children or family pets. When needed we use fabrics and furnishings that are designed to withstand the rigors of spills and hard wear!
