What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We are interested in learning how you live and what it is about your current home that you would like to improve. Design is a process to solve a problem, and by working with our team you will gain solutions. To do this right, we start with a phone call or Zoom conference to get acquainted. This is an interview process for both you and our team to ensure complete understanding of the design process and that we will respectfully work well together.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Masters degree of Interior Architecture with 20 years of professional experience, paired with a lifetime of on-the-job training from growing up as a third generation home specialist.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
It's important to have full understanding of your experience with working with a professional designer and the scope of your project prior to presenting our pricing system. We will guide you through standard pricing options such as: cost of design based on total square footage, cost of design based on construction costs, or one of our favorites, the 'Cost Plus' strategy.
How did you get started in this business?
Our founder is a third generation home specialist and has been swinging a hammer since childhood. Our core team comes from various backgrounds including real estate investment, interior design and landscape architecture.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
- Write down any questions you have before the meeting.
- Set your budget.
- Bring your ideas. Create a Pinterest board and link your designer to it. Put together color swatches you like. Save links to artwork or furniture you like in a favorites page.
- Know which of your current furniture pieces you want to keep.
- Let the designer know if you have a preference for sustainability and organic items, and if you need safety measures in place for children or people with disabilities.
- When they come to your home, have the clutter cleared so they can measure the rooms.
- Set all design plans in stone before beginning any work, and resolve not to change anything halfway through.
- Trust the designer you’ve hired. You’ve chosen them based on great reviews, an up-to-date license, and you’ve seen a portfolio of previous work. That said, though, speak up when you need to. You’ve hired them to help you, not take over.
