Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The process in which we work is as follows:
1. We set an appointment to visit our clients house to assess the situation and provide and estimate.
2. Once the client accepts the estimate we proceed to create a contract in which, both parties (client and Pro-Cast) sign, and set a date for work to be performed.
3. Work is performed, foundation is fixed, house is leveled, and see clients smiles with satisfaction.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Ram Castillo, owner of Pro-Cast Foundation holds an Engineering Degree
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
We thrive to sustain the most competetive prices in the industry. We like to assess the situation first in order to provide an estimate to our clients. We tend to provide discounts to help our clients.
How did you get started in this business?
Back in 2010, while still attending college, was laid off from a fire protection company. The only job I found was digging holes at a foundation repair company. Digging that first hole made me value life and set the goal to learn and one day start my own company. I finished colleged and went to work for an Engineering firm doing subsea design. I started doing foundation repair work on the weekends for my coleguees and friends. Finally in 2018, right after Hurricane Harvey I stablished my company Pro-Cast, LLC, Ever since we have service the greater Houston area providing foundation repair services and concrete services.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with all kinds of clients. From regular family people to real estate investors. I focus more my attention to our home owners clientel. We try to help as much as possible people who live in their homes and have to deal with the nightmare of having a foundation that is failing. But we also provide our services to contractors, realtors, and real estate investors.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
We were setting patches of concrete for some breakout holes we made to install piers in a house. As we were settting this patches, one of the little kids from this family put his little hands on the patch. The mom was embarrased thinking we would be upset. My reaction was to asked each one of her children to come and either place their hand prints or make figures on the poured concrete. They had a blast. That was my fond moment.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Always look for contractors who are register with the county, and preferibly companies registered as an LLC. Also, make sure the contractors you hire are insured and bonded. Many contractors out there don't have an insurance. Being insured as a foundation repair company is very costly to us, but it provides certenity and peace of mine to our clients.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Always have these questions in hand:
1. Are you registered
2. Are you insured.
3. Does with work come with warranty.
4. Is the warranty transferible.
5. Is there a permit needed to perform work? (Some municipalities do not require perfmits for foundaiton repair, but is good to ask. Companies who are well stablished will do their due diligency to find out if it's needed)
