Frequently asked questions

I personally talk to them over the phone and find out as much information as possible, address of the project, what type of flooring are you looking for, when do you need it installed, what colors do you desire, what textures do you desire, do you have kids & dogs & cats or high traffic zones we need to make considerations for, whats your email address that is best to send a proposal, do you need Same As cash to help pay for this purchase, we take credit cards securely using the Pay Pal email system, did you see products our there you like already, are you buying or selling your house. Last but not least - WHEN is the best time to setup appointment during the day, after 5pm or does a weekend time slot work better....
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Sales & support team go to yearly trade shows and are required to READ all the different types of trade magazines to keep up with the latest treads, styles and colors. Our contractors have flooring certifications that is provided in our industry.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.

How did you get started in this business?
I worked for a subcontractor at a construction site while attending a local business college. I was unable to get hired on to the medical company full-time to was hired by one of the flooring contractors working on the commercial job site. Was hired by this company as a sales field person and worked mainly in offices, banks, hospitals and schools. Was trained on the job with CAD, blueprints, and construction site management and with those aquired estimating skills I was able to market myself later in several aspects of this industry ie; wholesale, retailer, distribution and later started my own business in 2000.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Designers, GC contractors, home owners, restoration companies, carpet cleaning companies, tons of Realtors is how we got a break in the business, goverment offices, stagers, commercial management clients, and many more
Describe a recent project you are fond of.
Hardwood floor refinish project in Franklin, new solid glue down bamboo flooring for some folks in Spring Hill and custom steps my contractors completed in Belle Meade.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
If you believe after meeting that Flooring Sales Advisor that they are offering TRUE value and will give you the service you require --Then hire us! Your gut will tell you if this person will oversee your project and thats what you really want. Not a Big Box Store to call in your troubles or concerns--Directly by calling someones mobile phone number. That to me is value in a paying possibly alittle more because a "medium" size business out there will ( and should ) go above and beyond than the norm because they are not as large. You buy appliances and paint from those Big Box Stores--not flooring !
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
All the questions mentioned above. Have all parties present that can make the final decision - saves times and money for everyone.
